This workshop is for people who have developed their candle making skills and are considering setting up a candle-making business or who have already started to do so.  Please note we do not teach candle making at this workshop you need to have already started to develop your candle making skills, the workshop concentrates on the business side.

The workshop is delivered virtually so available to anybody wherever you are located.

Our workshops are held in our purpose built studio in Marlow.

Choose a date that suits you and come along to a private workshop for up to 4 people.

This three hour workshop will teach you about the different types of candles that are sold in the UK, then learn the skills to make your own using natural soy and beeswax! This hands-on workshop will show you how to make a variety of beautiful candles. Choose from a range of fragrances and dyes to personalise your very own candle range. At the end you take home the candles you have made plus a copy of our step-by-step course notes.

Workshop format:

> Workshop run by a “Chandler” (a professional candle-maker) 

> Introduction to candle-making through the ages 

> Overview of the different types of wax, wicks, dyes, fragrances and candles 

> Demonstration of 4 different candle-making techniques
 
> Using individual melters, melt two types of soy wax (container and pillar), add dyes, fragrance oils and wicks to make four types of candle: container, pillar, floating and rolled beeswax

> Legal requirements including CLP

> Finish your candles off with beautiful packaging and decorations 

> Participants take home their own candle creations and a 22 page user guide to enable them to recreate other candles at home

>  Information on where you can buy candle making materials and equipment

Her garden studio is excellent - it was comfy and warm and had good light.  We loved making a variety of different styles of candles and the helpful guide we were given at the end will be a useful prompt for home use.   It was a thoroughly enjoyable morning.  My top tip is to have breakfast in Coopers Roastery & Coffee Bar on the neighbouring industrial estate. There is a  free multi storey carpark next to Coopers and you then have a 4 minute walk to Sarah’s across the railway line.  The path across the railway line is behind the green metal gate immediately before the tunnel.
